There is a toy recall underway, because there is a chance your child could be cut while playing with it!
Fisher-Price and Health Canada have recalled a small red Builders’ Load’n Go Wagon that is part of the Little People line of toys.
The company said the undersize of the wagon’s yellow plastic handle has “moulded-in reinforcement,” which is intended to add stiffness and make it easier for kids to hold.
However, the handle can pose a laceration risk should the child fall on it. There have already been several reports of incidents in the U.S., including five in which children were cut badly enough to require stitches or surgical glue.
There have been no reports of injuries related to the use of the product in Canada.
The recall involves the Load’n Go Wagon with the model number P8977 on the bottom. The wagons are red and have a yellow handle.
Fisher-Price said 2,800 of the affected products were distributed to stores in Canada and sold between June 2009 and July 2011.
